Press Release - Hiro Nakatani Is A Book Hero

VICTORIA - Hiro Nakatani, a prominent Victoria realtor, has donated nearly 2000 Japanese books to GVPL. Mr. Nakatani began his reading career in Japan at a young age, as a way to pass the time on the long train rides to and from school, and his love of books followed him to Canada. But why have so many books?

He described these early experiences with books and reading: "Having four elder brothers did not make it easy for me to have my own books. Having a new book and new knowledge leading me to different worlds - this fascinated me. I have read each book at least three or four times. I decided to share this opportunity with other people."

GVPL is grateful to Hiro Nakatani, and we look forward to seeing his books on our shelves in the coming months.
